Office hours are by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, you may call the main number. Indicate that your child is ill and you would like him/her to be seen and our staff will transfer your call appropriately. If you feel you have an emergency, please state this clearly when you call. We make an effort to allow adequate time for same-day sick appointments. Please call as early in the day as possible so that we may accommodate you as efficiently as possible. If you are planning to have two or more children seen during an office visit, you need to make an appointment for each child. Each child seen without an appointment makes us 15-20 minutes late for all subsequent appointments. Remember, all illnesses do not require an office visit so if you are unsure, feel free to speak with a nurse who can help you decide what is best.
The well appointment staff is available Monday through Friday. Well appointments consist of physical exams, follow-ups, pre-booked appointments (for ongoing problems), consults (usually for emotional/psychological discussions or evaluations), & medication checks. During the first 3 years of life we see our patients at regular intervals for routine well baby examinations:
- Newborn visit: two days after hospital discharge
- 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 months, 2 years
- 2.5 years (30 months)* - please call your insurance carrier to verify coverage
- Yearly after age 3 years
- Last exam at age 21 years
*In April 2021, we began recommending the 30 month well visit. It's important for us to be sure your child is on track for his/her age, especially with development & behavior. If progress isn't being made as expected, early action is essential. Some insurance companies may not cover the 30 month visit, so please call your insurance provider to verify coverage first.
Appointments for physical exams are booked three months ahead. Because of the high volume of physicals, especially during the summer months, appointments are sometimes difficult to obtain. It is important that you call as soon as possible to schedule. Please be patient - our staff will do their best to accommodate you.
After your child starts school, it is important that we continue seeing him/her for yearly exams through high school and at entrance to college. One of our primary goals as pediatricians is counseling and guidance & it is important for your adolescent to have someone outside the family to consult during these years. We can be much more helpful if we've maintained an ongoing relationship with your child as they are growing and developing.
Arriving on time for your scheduled appointment helps our medical staff to stay on time. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule. Should you be unable to keep an appointment, PLEASE notify the office as soon as possible. This allows us to give this reserved time to someone else in need of services.
We schedule physical exams three months in advance.
